Can the word "swim" be used with a boat (or a canoe). Is it possible to say "I swam (with) a canoe recently." :?:

And how about ducks in Ducks swam in/on the pond.? They are not immersed and they swim ON the pond. Why can't I also swim ON the pond in a boat? )))

If you are swimming, you are in the water.

You can swim on a ship, if the ship has a swimming pool.

The ducks are not completely submerged in the water, but the relevant part of their body which is doing the swimming (their feet) is under the water.

Ducks also bob on the water.
Ducks float on the water.
They swim in the water.

If you say a person is swimming, then they are in water. You could swim whilst pulling a canoe or a kayak but you would still be swimming using your legs and one arm, while tugging the canoe along behind you.

If you are on a body of water in a boat or a canoe, then you are boating or canoeing. Not swimming.
