I got a weird sentence and couldn't confirm my correction. It's about reporting a suggestion. Here is the original sentence and the reported version. Could you please think it over a bit more and give me your versions?

'why don't you sell your old car and buy a new one?', She told me.

She told me why I didn't sell my cold ar and buy a new one.
She told me to sell my old car and buy a new one.
She told me that I should sell my old car and buy a nex one.
She told me that I sell my old car and buy a new one.
She suggested that I sell my old car and buy a new one.

As you said yourself, the "question" was a suggestion. Only one of these offers her comment as a suggestion.

I hope, though, that you have not written the original sentence as it was in the exercise.
And either the question mark should go, if it's "told" instead of "asked" or the question mark can stay and the "told" should be "asked."

It's not my sentence. What difference does the question mark make? as it's supposed to be reported with a different reporting verb.

Another shade of the problem is that if you keep 'told' as a reporting verb, you'll have to add an object which will definitely change the next transformation into infinitive.

The original words as spoken cannot be anything but a question "Why don't you sell your old car and buy a new one?" is a question, not a statement. It therefore attracts the verb "to ask", not "to tell" in both direct and reported speech. Had the words been "Sell your old car and buy a new one" then it would have been an imperative statement and "to tell" would have been fine in both.

"Why don't you sell your old car and buy a new one?", she asked me. (Direct speech)
She asked me why I didn't sell my old car and buy a new one. (Reported speech)

"Sell your old car and buy a new one", she told me. (Direct speech)
She told me to sell my old car and buy a new one. (Reported speech)

"I suggest you sell your old car and buy a new one", she said to me. (Direct speech)
She suggested that I sell my old car and buy a new one. (Reported speech)
