    Question What does 'good' mean in this sentence?

    'Putt off the first meal as long as possible. Wait till you are good and hungry.Putt off the first meal as long as possible.'

    It's an idiomatic convention: 'good and' means 'well and truly' or 'completely': 'I'm not coming till I'm good and ready', for example, means 'I'm not ready yet, and I'll come when I decide that I am!'

    And was your 'putt a typo - 'putting' is what golfers do on putting greens (and the vowel is different - /pʌt/ (but the -ing form of 'put' {/pʊt/} is also spelt 'putting').
