    treat

I will cook Chinese food to treat you. That is your favorite.
Is it a bit wordy? Could I change it into:
I will cook your favorite Chinese food for you.
I don't think "treat" is appropriate in this sentence. Do you have any other suggestion? Thank you.

    Re: treat

    (1) I will cook Chinese food to treat you. That is your favorite.
This isn't incorrect, but it is stilted and unnatural.

    (2) I will cook your favorite Chinese food for you.
This is much better and you can easily introduce "treat":
"As a treat, I will cook your favorite Chinese food for you".
    or
"I will cook your favorite Chinese food for you, as a treat".

However, (2) would usually be understood to mean that you are cooking his favorite type of Chinese food, whereas (1) is, I think, making the point that he likes all Chinese food.

    Perhaps:
"As a treat, I will cook you your favorite food, Chinese".
    or
"I will treat you to your favorite food, Chinese".
