the difference between worried and anxious

Hey guys, my teacher told me she is getting anxious about my study that is not going well and I may not finish it on time, she said I am not worried I am anxious. I got the idea that anxious is milder that being worried? What you totally she meant?
    Cheers

In most cases, I don't see anxious as milder than worried.
