The use of prospect as a noun

    Hello all!

"I did some research on the web about the city today and the prospect is not good for those who are looking for affordable hotels to stay."

    Would that work?

    Thank you.

It's OK. It would be more natural as "...the prospects are not good..."

I agree with bhai that "the prospects are not good" would be better. I would also omit "to stay" at the end. There's nothing wrong with the rest of it grammatically but this would be my version:

"I researched the city's accommodation options on the internet today and the prospects are not good for those looking for an affordable hotel.
