    1. She should know how to do the sums as I have just taught her how to (do them).

    Which is the correct sentence? I wonder if 'do them' is needed.

    #2 is more natural IMO.

    Both of your examples are grammatically correct. I agree with bhaisahab that the second is slightly more natural. I would like to add two more which you will hear:

    - She should know how to do the sums as I have just taught her!
    - She should know how to do the sums as I have just taught her how.
