    has scheduled?

Teacher, I read this sentence in an article. Is this correct?

The patient said her doctor has scheduled a psychological assessment for her.

Yes, it's fine. What were you questioning?

    Re: has scheduled?

I was wondering if "scheduled" was the right word in this sentence. Thank you.

    Re: has scheduled?

I wonder if it wouldn't be better this way: The patient said her doctor had scheduled a psychological assessment for her.

Because, probably, first the doctor scheduled the assessment, and then the patient said that. Am I wrong?

    Thank you.

It's possible, but not better - unless the time of the assessment has passed.
