    Are all the sentences correct?

    1. He is down with Parkinson's disease for the past ten years.
    2. He has had Parkinson's disease for the past ten years.
    3. He is suffering from Parkinson's disease for the past ten years.

Are all the above sentences correct? Thanks.

I am not sure about 1, 2 but I feel that 3 is the correct answer.

Re: Are all the sentences correct?

    1. He is down with Parkinson's disease for the past ten years.
    2. He has had Parkinson's disease for the past ten years.
    3. He is suffering from Parkinson's disease for the past ten years.

    1. He's been down with Parkinson's disease for the past ten years.
But this is not very natural, people are normally said to be "down" with a short-term illness: "He's been down with the flu all week".

    2. He has had Parkinson's disease for the past ten years. (This is OK)

    3. He has suffered from Parkinson's disease for the past ten years.

Re: Are all the sentences correct?

I would add "He has been suffering from Parkinson's Disease for the last/past ten years".

    Thanks, emsr2d2, for the information.

Had you not told me the above sentence, I would have thought that 'suffering' could not be used, just as it is not correct to say, for example, "I'm having a fever."
