    ellipsis/for it to...

    Which are correct:

1-His place is at school to be educated.
2-His place is at school to receive education.

(His place is at school for him to ...)

3-The place of that frozen meat is in the lower compartiment of the fridge to thaw.
4-The place of that frozen meat is in the lower compartiment of the fridge to be thawed.

(The place of that frozen meat is in the lower compartiment of the fridge for it to...)

5-That frozen meat is in the lower compartiment of the fridge to thaw.
6-That frozen meat is in the lower compartiment of the fridge to be thawed.
(That frozen meat is in the lower compartiment of the fridge for it to...)

    Gratefully,
    Navi.

    Re: ellipsis/for it to...

Neither 1 nor 2 makes sense.

With 3 and 4, it should read "the place for" not "the place of", although even that does not sound completely natural. Perhaps "The correct/appropriate place for ..." would be better.

In 3, 4, 5 and 6 "To thaw" is correct. "To be thawed" is unnatural.

The correct spelling is "compartment" (you have an "i" in the middle which should not be there).
