    Get to go

    Hi all
    I'd like to know the meaning of "get to go".
    For example: "He gets to go to fabulous parties".

    It is sort of a shortened form of "He gets the opportunity to go to fabulous parties" or an alternative to "He is able to go to fabulous parties because people invite him". In the example you have used, I think the speaker is probably at least a little jealous of the person who gets those opportunities.
