Student or Learner
I just heard from a teacher in an English-learning show on the Internet that
FELLOW shouldn't be followed by schoolmates/classmates as the term fellow already has this meaning. ONe should say instead fellow students.
Is this true? I have heard My fellow schoolmates quite many times.
Strictly speaking, 'fellow' is redundant before 'class/schoolmates'. However, native speakers don't appear to worry too much - there are 52 'fellow classmates' citations in COCA.
