    Preposition

    How should I say this?

It is in/on/at the backyard? Which of these prepositions is the correct?

    Re: Preposition

In the US we'd say "in" the backyard.
I'm not a teacher, but I write for a living. Please don't ask me about 2nd conditionals, but I'm a safe bet for what reads well in (American) English.
