"The part which looks to the north is lower than it/that which looks to the south."
The above sentence is from a National Exam for Korean highschoolers and the answer is 'that'.
I wonder why 'it' can't be a precedent for the relative pronoun 'which' and why 'lt' can't be used for 'the part' in this
sentence.
