look over vs take a look

    Dear teachers

Could you shed some light on this?

I've been trying to distinguish between these two:

Look this over and tell me if it is good or bad.
Have/Take a look at this and tell me if this is good or bad.

    Thank you

They mean the same to me. Just don't say "overlook this" because that means something different.

I agree. No differene in intended meaning that I can find.
I'm not a teacher, but I write for a living. Please don't ask me about 2nd conditionals, but I'm a safe bet for what reads well in (American) English.
