    Please see my amendments to your post in red. Check on your use of capitalisation and please don't use "textspeak" or "chatlish" (ie don't put "u", put "you").

    I would say "How are you getting on with your essay now?" or "Have you made any progress with your essay?" I think "Did you move/Have you moved forward ... ?" sounds rather unnatural in this context.

    Also, remember to ALWAYS capitalize "I" for the first person singular pronoun.
