    language and linguistics

    i've read the book of lilian hageman about government and binding theory . there was an expression that i didn't exactly knowthe meaning : minimal composition
    please explain it more

    The semi-automatic response would be 'Give us more context'.

    But I suspect that the expression has a special meaning in a particular field of linguistics - so the context we need might be the whole book, or several books covering the same area.

    But assuming it's not a jargon term, just the surrounding paragraph may be all we need. Give it a try
