    Lightbulb Proper use of vocabulary

Wondering if this was a proper use for the word nucleus, check it out: "The essay James did was a good nucleus for his research project".

    ?!

    Re: Proper use of vocabulary

    No.

The relevant definition of 'nucleus' in the COED is 'the central and most important part of an object or group'.

A better thread title would have been Proper use of 'nucleus'.

I think the use of "nucleus" is a little unusual in that context. I would prefer to use "foundation".
