    word "hostility"

    Please, would you tell me if my use of the articles with the word hostility is correct in these sentences:

    1. When two men entered the room, one could sense the mutual hostility between them.
    2. In some parts of Europe there is the open hostility towards the refugees, especially during the financial crises.
    3. The old hostility between the two countries flared up again.
    4. A strong feeling of hostility spread all over the country before the war started.

    I believe the use of the articles is correct....
    but I doubt number 2... I think it should be as follows : In some parts of Europe, there is an open hostility/a great deal of hostility towards the refugees... hope this helps !!!

    Or simply "there is open hostility."
