    posted bicycle paths

As a bicycle rider, you have a responsibility to ride only on streets and posted bicycle paths.

What does "posted" mean here? I cannot find it in a English dictionary.

I guess it means "marked out".

Is it correct or is it a common phrase in the west?

    Thanks

    Jason
