Hello, can some one let me know which of the following use of "each" is correct?:?:

- We will order 500 units each of the models.
- We will order 500 units of each model.

It sounds like to me that the second sentence "500 units of each model" is correct, but I also feel both is correct.
Please advise.

Sentence 2 is the more natural construction but remove the plural from the noun:

- We will order 500 units of each model.

Your first sentence is not impossible if you add an "of".

- We will order 500 units of each of the models. (Note that "each of" requires the plural noun.)

I would like to point out that, to me, "each of the models" makes it sound like you are talking about people (ie catwalk/fashion models, Kate Moss, etc), whereas "each model" would lead me to assume you were talking about some kind of equipment.

Thank you very much for your prompt and detailed reply!
That helps much.

I just removed the plural.

Why did you begin your post with the word "hell"?
