    Please check and correct the following sentences.

    1 The shoebill stork, also known as the whale head, is a large and tall stork like bird.
    2 The shoebill stork, also knows as the whale head, is a large and tall stork like bird.


    Is the profer place of known, we always write known with has,have, is are was and were but not also known. Please clarify my query.

    It's certainly better with the article. If the name of a bird weren't better with the article then you would need to remove it from "the shoebill stork" as well as from "the whale head".
    Remember - if you don't use correct capitalisation, punctuation and spacing, anything you write will be incorrect.
