    So is the accumulation

I seem to have seen a few cases of this structure before, but I'd like to understand it for sure. Usually "The accumulation is so big that ..." is normal, but is this structure "So (big) is the accumulation that .." an inversed emphasis with no explicit "big"?

ex)Thanks to the computer and other new technologies, the English language is growing by up to 20,000 words a year....The second edition of the Random House unabridged dictionary, published in 1987, underwent an even more extensive change, with 50,000 new words and 210,000 of its 315,000 entries revised or updated. So is the accumulation of the new formations that "dictionaries are going to have to come out every six to eight years rather than every ten to keep up with the new vocabulary," and editor said.

    Re: So is the accumulation

It should read either 'So great is the accumulation ... that' or 'Such is the accumulation ... that'.

    Re: So is the accumulation

You mean it's a mistake or a implication of 'So great is the accumulation ... that' or 'Such is the accumulation ... that'.?
I think you meant the latter.

    Re: So is the accumulation

It's a mistake, in my opinion.
