    assurance

I wonder if this understanding is correct.
    1. insurance - covers illness, death, property
damage/loss both in BrE and AmE.
    2. assurance - covers illness and/or death in
BrE: American equivalent = life insurance
Also, how about the assurer/insurer and
    the assured/insured?
    Thank you.

    Re: assurance

In BrE, the industry term is life assurance, because you are certain to die, but insurance is often used casually, I believe.
