this action helps cold get better

I have heard when people catch a cold, one of the good ways to get better is mixing salt and water and ................... it.
Actually I am looking for a suitable verb for the gap. I mean they don't drink or swallow it. They just have it and move it in their mouth and throat and then throw it out.

Re: this action helps cold get better

    Hi,

Maybe "gargle": gargle - WordReference.com Dictionary of English would fit in there.
