    Lamp or Light?

    Hi All,

    In daily life, we should say the "light" or "lamp"? Please advise

    This one is both. When a lamp is turned on, it's a light.

    We can both say' turn on the lamp/light, if we say 'I ve' bought a light, is it incorrect?

    It's correct. You can turn a light off, and it's still a light.

    ... if you've bought the whole thing. If you've just bought the bulb (the glass thing that lights up)' 'I've bought a bulb' is correct. (A bulb is often called a light-bulb, when there's the possibility of ambiguity - as there are other sorts of bulb).
