    What does "A" mean by "Thank you!"?
    A: I'm ready to go!
    B: You're going out wearing that?
    A: Sure!
    B: For your information, very few men look good in tank tops.
    A: Thank you!

    He thinks that she is saying he is "one of those very few men who can look good in that." He's not, of course, but he is fooling himself.
    I'm not a teacher, but I write for a living. Please don't ask me about 2nd conditionals, but I'm a safe bet for what reads well in (American) English.

    I think A is saying a sarcastic 'thank you'. He is 'thanking' B for in effect saying, "You are not one of the very few men who look good in tank tops". If we could hear the cnversation, intonation would tell us whether Barb's interpretation is correct or mine.
