    I remembered there were many people "celebrated" Christmas on the beach.

    1. Is it(inside" ") right?

    Or the following sentence is right?

    2. I remembered there were many people "celebrating" Christmas on the beach.

    2. is correct ...there were many people celebrating Christmas on the beach; btw are you sure you want to use 'remembered' and not 'remember'?
