    Knocked off the air?

"There was a frantic call from a guy to the Radio show. But the call was immediately knocked off the air."

In this sentence, is' knocked off the air' correct?

Shouldn't it be 'knocked off by the air' or 'knocked off in the air'?

    (Not a Teacher)

No, "knocked off the air" is fine, however "taken off the air" is more common.

When you say that you are "on the air" it means that you are broadcasting. It can be used for radio or television broadcasts.

Just to make it clear: "knocked off in the air" doesn't make sense in this sentence.
