1. As for "cognitive authority", it seems to mean some renowned influential person or authority such as Charles Horace Mayo or Benjamin Spock. If they recommend a website, people will trust it and buy anything in there. Is my interpretation correct?

*webiste material about congnitive authority
... people do not count all hearsay as equally reliable; only those who are deemed to “know what they are talking about” become cognitive authorities...

2. This is about information structure, but I can't understand it easily. If someone could let me know more easily taking an example, it would be highly appreciated.:lol::lol:
Information structure - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

330-58
ex)A survey studied Internet users who were seeking out, respectively, travel information, information about purchase of a new computer, material in search databases, and medical information...For the travel and computer tasks, users focused on topical interests and affective aspects, but when they sought out medical information they were much more concerned with the site's cognitive authority. As might be expected, they made judgements based on graphics and information structure more readily when considering travel and computer purchases than when they did when looking for medical information and research materials...

I don't think it is just a person, but whether people trust it- Wikipedia has this, for example, though it also has its critics. When it comes to medical matters, flashy graphics are not enough- there has to be some serious content for people to take it seriously.
