    cells stand up

Please help me understand the following in red.

How do ten trillion cells organize themselves into a human being... often with scarcely a single foul up for several decades? How do ten trillion cells even stand up? Even a simple thing of rising to a height of five or six feet is a fairly impressive trick for a bunch of cells that are, individually, no taller than a coffee stain.

Are the above in red describing the process in which cells make our height grow to 5 or 6 feet?

    Thank you.

It's questioning how a bunch of cells can arrange themselves into one creature that is 5 or 6 feet tall.

    Hi SoothingDave,

With all due respect , I would say that the author is marvelling at the fact, rather than just asking. S/he gives it the form of a question, but I believe that is done merely for stylistic purposes.

Please be aware that I'm neither a native English speaker nor a teacher.
