    simple past + present perfect

Are these sentences correct? Shouldn't we change the present perfect to another tense?
It was the best film I have ever seen.
Jake was the best friend that I have ever had.

Re: simple past + present perfect

    I would prefer:

Jake is the best friend that I have ever had.
    Or
Jake was the best friend that I had ever had.
Remember - if you don't use correct capitalisation, punctuation and spacing, anything you write will be incorrect.
