Smile give harmony to his world

Hello. Would you please tell me what the underlined part means in this context.
    Thank you.

(In the story, an Indian boy becomes a giant when he goes to school.
But he is forced to leave school to help his poor parents in the fields.)

He sorely missed his giant days, when space levelled out,
when the countryside and its inhabitants unfurled before his eyes,
when his strength easily overcame any spelling or arithmetical problems
and gave harmony to his world.

"His strength gave harmony to the world."
This does not mean that the world became harmonious because of his strength. The external world didn't change.
It means that his strength allowed him to perceive the world as being more harmonious.

I'd be more concerned about what "space levelled out" means, and how his gigantism overcame his learning difficulties.

Actually, I'm a bit confused what "give harmony to his word" means in this context.
Thanks to Raymott, now I understand the meaning. Thank you.

Re: give harmony to his world

Thank you for your kind reply.
For more information, the story is one of the collection written by Aide et Auction to celebrate the 20th anniversary
of the Convention on the Rights of the Child.
In the story, the boy really wants to go to school, but he has to look after goats and do household chores.
(As soon as he stepped into the classroom and started flipping through the pages of his school books, he started growing as if by magic, and became a huge giant. But when class was over, he turned back into boy like any other.)
