    enough to...

    Hello, everyone.

Today I have a silly question as to the usage of "enough to..."

"He is wise enough not to make such a mistake." - comprehensible
(=He is so wise that he won't make such a mistake.)

"He is not wise enough to avoid such a mistake." - comprehensible
    However, is it equal to:

    1. "He is not so wise that he can avoid such a mistake. "?(Does it make sense at all?)

    Or is it

    2. "He is not so wise that he can't avoid such a mistake."?

I think the following is the best:

    3. "He is so stupid that he can't avoid such a mistake."

hmm...I'm not wise enough to solve this problem!

#3 is the only one that works for me, it's a big jump from "not wise" to "stupid", though.
