    -full of hot air

    -show one's true color
    -blanket authority
    -crocodile tears
    -get cold feet
    -fly into range
    -drop it like a hot potato
    -bone of contention
    -a wild goose chase
    -skeleton in the closet
    -apple of the eye
    -be an item
    -friends in high places
    -the honeymoon is over
    -birds of feather
    -the lights are on but nobody's home
    -it's nothing to write home about
    -run home to mama

    -be an item

    -until the cows come home
