    cheap price, cheap job

What does this mean? If you buy something cheap, it must be something worthless?

Is it an idiom? Someone explained it in a book as "Things bought cheaper have inferior quality" and he matched this to its Korean counterpart idiom, so I doubt if it can be interpreted so.
