    Validity period

    Hi!

Is it OK to write "validity period" in the following sentence?

" The ticket will have its billing controlled by contract. In order that, you just need to select the contract and its validity period."

I want to mean that all invoices generated and sent because of a ticket (Call center technical term) will be controlled by contract. In order that, its requester has to select which contract he wants and needs establish its validity period, in other words, the duration of that contract.

In Portuguese, we use the word "vigência" with this meaning but in English I am not sure.

Please, let me know if you have any questions about my explanation cause I've many difficulties when writing in English!

    Thanks in advance

    Re: Validity period

    (Not a Teacher)

Based on the number of hits I'm getting for it on Google, 'validity period' seems to be accepted terminology.
Other than that, I'm a bit mystified by the "In order that" at the beginning of your second sentence.
Did you mean "In order to do that"?

    Re: Validity period

Yes, that's the idea. The customer can select which contract he wants and how long it will be valid for.

I've just wanted to know if I can replace "will be valid for" for "validity period"...
    Does it sound artificial?

    Thanks for answering!
