can we say"look like somebody in personality"?

    Hi
I wonder if it is possible to say: look like somebody in personality/appearance, the same as take after somebody in appearance/personality.
    Thanks a million.

P.S. A feeling inside says no, that's not correct.
Being a non-native teacher, I'm so thrilled being in such a superb forum.

You can say that John takes after his father in personality and/or appearance, but you would not say that he looks like his father in personality.
In "John looks like his father in appearance", the "appearance" would usually be redundant, "John looks like his father" conveys the meaning.
