    Usage of "extend"

    Hello,

I would like to know the correct usage of the verb: extend.

Which of the following is more correct: I wrote a short letter in one page,
1- then I extend it into two pages.
2- then I extend it to two pages.
3- then I extend it with two pages.
4- then I extend it for two pages.

    Thanks.

...then I extended it to two pages.

Thanks! I forgot to use the verb "extend" in its past tense.

Can I say: ....then I extended it up to two pages.? (to say ...no more than two pages)

Can I use the verb "expand" instead of "extend" in this example? ---> ...then I expanded it to two pages.
Sometimes, I use the verb "expand" for something more physical; e.g. I expand the area of this room.

    Thanks again.

If you are reporting what you did, then this seems a very strange thing to want to say. You either extended it to two pages or you didn't. Why leave a reader guessing what you mean?

I suppose you could, if you felt so inclined.

And just how do you do that?
