The punctuation is correct in the first one.
The usage is correct in the second one.I'm not a teacher. I speak American English. I've tutored writing at the University of Southern Maine and have done a good deal of copy editing and writing, occasionally for publication.

What´s the weather like?
- When we ask about the state of things like "what is the table like?", what is your teacher like?".
How is used when we ask for somebody, "how is your mother?" - "She is well, thank you for asking".
