    responsible ...?

    Hello,

What is the correct way of using responsible?

I have two versions in my mind
    1) I am responsible to provide food to my kids.
    2) I am responsible for providing food to my kids.

Is one right and the other wrong?

    Thanks

I feel that both are acceptable, but that "I am responsible for providing food to my kids" is a more common form than "I am responsible to provide food to my kids".

    not a teacher

    Thanks!

I'd appreciate hearing from a teacher as well, but thanks a lot!

I would only use "I am responsible for providing..."
