    attributed vs attribuable

Could you please give me examples how to use these two words in sentences?

Is this sentence correct: The statement is attributed to a former American official.

    Re: attributed vs attribuable

It is correct. The "-able" version means that no one in the community has actually decided that they believe the provenance, only that it would be reasonable to make that association regarding provenance.
