    Are these sentences correct:

    1-We were told that the experiment worked by one of the scientists involved in the project.
    (Meaning: One of the scientists involved in the project told us that the experiment worked.)

    2-We were told that the movie was bad by a professional critic.

    (Meaning: A professional critic told us that the movie was bad.)

    They both mean what you think they do, but the word order is a little messy. I would use:

    We were told by one of the scientists involved in the project that the experiment had worked.
    We were told by a professional critic that the movie was bad.
    Remember - if you don't use correct capitalisation, punctuation and spacing, anything you write will be incorrect.
