Question How much or how many?

Is it correct to say "How much pea do you need?" ?

Re: How much or how many?

If you went somewhere where peas (probably dried) are sold by weight, then the following exchange is possible:

    - May I have some peas please?
    - Yes. How much do you want?
    - 1 kilogram please.

Here though, "How much" refers to the weight you are requesting. The fact that that weight will be made up of peas is rather incidental.
Remember - if you don't use correct capitalisation, punctuation and spacing, anything you write will be incorrect.
