    Sentence

    Dear all,

    My cheeks burn with embarrasment, but I don`t now what tense should I use in the sentence?

    In antient times, the Olympic festival (Bring) huge numbers of visitors to Olympia.

    Can I use form 'was bringing' or simply 'brought'?

    I'm not a teacher, but I write for a living. Please don't ask me about 2nd conditionals, but I'm a safe bet for what reads well in (American) English.
