Post Is this sentence grammatically correct?

    Hi
    I have a grammar question

'He noticed the old guy lying on the ground dead'

I read this sentence in the book
but I think it should be like this 'He noticed the old guy (who was) lying on the ground (was) dead'

which one is correct? and which one is more commonly used?

Re: Is this sentence grammatically correct?

Hi, I'm not a teacher, just saying my opinion.

"He noticed the old guy lying on the ground dead" is grammatically correct sentence. You could say "He noticed that the old guy, who was lying on the ground, was dead", but the first one is usually how you'd say it.
