    Please tell me which one is correct and why?

    Hello,

    I've seen the following sentence;
    'I have tried every possible way to get him to change his mind.'

    May I write; I have tried every possible way to change his mind.' ?

    I don't understand why the words "get him" is used here.

    Thank you.

    The second one has a connotation that you may use force or brain-washing. But you want him to change his own mind by persuasion, reason, etc.
