    pronoun before the gerund

Should the pronoun before the gerund be nominative, objective, or possessive? In "I don't like him doing this.", should the 'him' be 'his' instead?

    Re: pronoun before the gerund

Grammatical purists generally favour the possessive, but the objective form is the most commonly used one.

    Re: pronoun before the gerund

I wonder why the gerund phrase can't be considered as an appositive, or objective complement like this:

"I don't like him [(to be) doing this]"
"He [doing this] is not good."

"I don't like him [(to be) doing this]"- Nothing wrong with this one to me.
