    Where's (the) John?

John can mean a toilet or bathroom.

If we are asking the location of a John, should we use 'the' or leave out 'the' before 'John'?

    1. Where's the John?
    2. Where's John?

    Thanks.

    1. Where's the john? = Where's the bathroom?
    2. Where's John? = Where is the person called John?

    Thanks.
So, unless John has done something wrong to you and you wanted to take revenge by urinating on his shoes, you'd ask for the john to go relieve yourself .

When writing it, though, not capitalising the restroom is enough!

It's very informal to talk like this. Unless you are among close associates, you are better off using more polite terms.
