    Him

My husband has a friend. Sometimes we meet him.

My husband and him were school friends.
    Is the above correct?

We are not sure whether to write 'My husband and him' . We are sure it is incorrect to write 'My husband and he'.
    Thanks in advance.

'It's more natural to say 'He and my husband were school friends'.

    Hi,

IMO, you are wrong. I believe "My husband and he" is correct.

Try to change the positions of "My husband" and "he" for a clue: "He and my husband were school friends".

    No.

We are sure it is incorrect to write 'My husband and he'.
You are wrong about it being incorrect. It is correct.

However, I do agree that it's more natural to change the order "He and my husband."
I'm not a teacher, but I write for a living. Please don't ask me about 2nd conditionals, but I'm a safe bet for what reads well in (American) English.
